I am thrilled to introduce to you the new, official logo of Second Mile Church!
What’s the significance?
1. We are a church that is “out there” more than “in here.” Street signs are something that are associated with being out on the road, so this is a fitting symbol. Also, a name like Second Mile automatically makes you think of a road and, therefore, a sign fits.
2. We are pointing to something bigger and greater than ourselves. A street sign does not exist for itself, but to point you to something more important. In this case, we are pointing people to the cross of Jesus Christ.
3. We love the cross. Though we could have put other things on the sign that might be less “churchy,” we want to be known for our love of the cross. Since the cross is the heart of the gospel, this is a visible reminder of what is most important to us. Also, since the name “Second Mile Church” doesn’t necessarily point to what kind of church we are, a cross clearly communicates that we are a Christian church.
